Turn on 2 Step Verification (2SV) for your Google Account
About:
2 Step verification is a security tool which keeps your HHM Google Account from being hijacked or used by people other than you. Turning on 2 Step verification greatly increases the security of your account and is required to be turned on for all HHM employees. Failure to turn on 2 Step verification may lead to HHM IT disabling access to your account so please take 5 minutes and follow the instructions below.

Open your Google Account settings
|
|
|
Click Security
|
|
|
Click 2-Step Verification
|
|
|
Run through the steps to enable 2-Step Verification
|
|
|
Enter your phone number and make sure Text message is selected
|
|
|
Enter the numerical code sent to your phone
|
|
|
For the final step, make sure to click "Turn On"
|
|
|
Check your email inbox for verification that your 2SV is set up correctly
|
***Note: The enforcement policy is reapplied every Sunday evening at 1159 Eastern Time. Failure to enable this security feature for your account before then will result in your account being locked. Follow the instructions carefully to avoid this, as we treat these tickets as low priority.***
FAQ:
Q: What if I lose my phone or change my number?
A: Contact Hersha IT Support - we can turn off two factor temporarily so you can get logged in to your account. You can then turn it back on when you have a new phone or number / find your phone.
