Transfer ownership of a Google Drive folder to someone else



Open Google Drive 

Go to   drive.google.com  in your web browser.

Look for a folder named after the terminated users email address

Under  My Drive  you should see a folder named after the terminated users email address. Inside this folder are the contents of the terminated users Google Drive. Files that were already shared with other people are still accessible by those same people.


 

Open Sharing settings of the folder

Right click the folder then click Share .




Share the folder

Enter the name of the person you want to share the folder with then click Send .



Reopen Sharing settings of the same folder, then click Advanced

  1. Right click the folder then click Share .
  2. Click Advanced .



Change Ownership of the folder

  1. Click the pencil icon and set the other person as the owner.
  2. Remember to click Save Changes at the bottom. 
  3. Select Yes when prompted.
