About: By default, any file in your "My Drive" folder inside of your Google Drive is only shared with you. If you need to share a file or folder with someone follow the steps below.

Open Google Drive

Go to drive.google.com in your web browser

Browse to the folder or file you want to share

Find Share options by either single clicking the file or folder (it will highlight blue) or right click the file or folder

Click Share

With the file selected, click the Share button along the top.

Alternatively you can right click > Share > Share.

Configure share details

Type the name of the person you want to share the file with and select them from the list then select what permission you want to give them.

To provide more general access via a link, you provide access to the file or folder by sharing a link using these options.
