Refresh a folder in Google Drive for Desktop

About: If you notice discrepancies between a folder on drive.google.com in your web browser and a folder in your G: drive; or if opening files via the G: drive is taking a long time - refreshing the folder in Google Drive for Desktop typically resolves this type of issue.


Open your G: drive in your File Explorer



 

Hold SHIFT + Right click the folder

  1. Locate the folder that you want to refresh and then hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard.
  2. While holding SHIFT, right click the folder.
  3. Click Refresh folder.


See if your issue is resolved

The folder in your G: drive should match the same folder on drive.google.com now.
