Connect your G: Drive

About:  See below to learn how to connect your Google Drive in the Windows File Explorer on your computer. After you have signed in to Google Drive for the first time, it should launch automatically every time you log in to Windows. If your G: drive gives you an error or you cannot find the G: drive, you can follow the same steps below:

Note: If you need immediate access your Google Drive, remember that you can access these files anytime by going to  drive.google.com . Here you can edit files in both native Microsoft Office formats and Google Workspace formats.


Click the Start button  


Find the Google Drive program shortcut

In the app list, find the program Google Drive, then click to open it.

Windows 10:



Windows 11:



Click Get Started then click Sign in

Before proceeding, make sure Google Chrome is set as your default browser.
  1. Set Chrome as your default browser (Windows 10)
  2. Set Chrome as your default browser (Windows 11)







Select your Google Account then click Sign in







Find the G: drive via the File Explorer  

The Google Drive app will now begin to load and prompt you with a series of options that you can enable if you'd like.

You can click next, skip, next etc until the welcome wizard completes. Now when you open your File Explorer you should see your Google Drive connected.

Open your File Explorer by clicking:



Then look for the Google Drive (G:) under "This PC" or pinned in the "Quick Access" section.
