Enable IE mode in Microsoft Edge

About:  If you need to access websites that require Java or Internet Explorer, as of February 2023 you will need to follow the instructions below to enable "IE Mode" in Microsoft Edge.


Open the Microsoft Edge web browser

If you have an Internet Explorer shortcut, it may now open Edge instead of Internet Explorer.

If you need to find the Microsoft Edge shortcut, click start > type edge > open Microsoft Edge





Click the 3 dots in the upper right corner then click Settings

Click Default browser along the left then configure as seen below

  1. Next to Allow sites to be reloaded in Internet Explorer mode, select Allow from the dropdown menu.
  2. Next to Internet Explorer mode pages, click Add.
  3. Type the URL that you need to run in IE mode for example: https://marriott.com .
  4. Click the blue Restart button.


Reload page in IE mode

  1. Load the website you need to open in IE mode.
  2. Click the 3 dots in the upper right corner.
  3. Hover over More tools.
  4. Click  Reload in Internet Explorer mode .

You can tell when your page is in IE mode by looking for the IE icon at the top left corner.
